Commission — UI/UX curation (verdict: hub + skill, NOT a pack)

Charter

  • Q1 — Standalone pack, or extension/cross-cut? (given heavy design-functionalism overlap)

  • Q2 — Spine + curation (which EUs; multi-tag vs re-tag; gaps)

  • Q3 — Cross-pack dedup (design-functionalism / color-data-viz / content-craft)

  • Q4 — Stance + Layer-3 skill

Panel

  • U1 — Interaction design (Cooper / Saffer) · U2 — Usability / HCI (Norman / Krug)

  • U3 — IA + patterns (Rosenfeld / Tidwell) · U4 — UI psychology (Weinschenk / Kahneman)

  • U5 — Pack architect (dedup discipline, schema-pack-extension rule)

Recon (grounding)

201 UI/UX EUs already in the KB — Apple HIG 77 · Lidwell 23 · Rosenfeld 22 · Tidwell 21 · Frost 14 · Kahneman 10 · Cooper 8 · Krug 8 · Saffer 8 · Norman 7 · Shneiderman 7 · Weinschenk 6 · Tufte 5. 151 already `:pack<design-functionalism>` + the older hub-ui-patterns / hub-knowledge-1.

Q1 — Standalone pack? ❌ 5/5 NO (as a full pack)

U5: re-tagging 150+ design-functionalism EUs into `ui-ux` is churn and violates [[schema-pack-extension-over-concept-proliferation]]. The gap (leverage rubric = 2/5) confirms this is a consolidation + skill need, not a new-pack need. Panel split the layers:

  • Philosophy (Rams/Bauhaus/less-but-better) → design-functionalism owns it

  • Platform conventions (Apple HIG, 77) → design-functionalism owns it

  • UX practice / usability (Cooper/Krug/Norman/Tidwell/Saffer/Weinschenk, ~58) → coherent discipline, but already extracted

Q2-Q3 — Curation + dedup

No re-tagging. Gather the existing ~201 EUs into a cross-cut hub (`hub-ui-ux`) as a navigable view. No NEW acquisition needed (gap is small); a future micro-sweep could fill genuine gaps (forms, interaction-states, motion) only if demanded. Apple HIG stays design-functionalism (platform); cross-ref only.

Q4 — Stance + skill

Stance: «don't make me think» (Krug) + «human error is bad design» (Norman) — design for the user's task and mental model; the UX expression of design-functionalism's restraint. Skill: `/runa-ui-review` (Layer-3) — review/design UI surfaces against the corpus with a mandatory usability gate; pairs with `/axona-frontend-design` (builder).

Verdict (applied 2026-05-26)

  • `hub-ui-ux` — cross-cut index over ~201 existing UI EUs (9 decision areas), no re-tag

  • `/runa-ui-review` — Layer-3 skill (usability gate; feeds Phrasis editor-chrome #21 + Axona UI), 38 cited slugs verified

  • ❌ No standalone `ui-ux` pack (proliferation avoided)

  • Optional later: multi-tag the ~58 UX-practice EUs · micro-sweep for forms/motion gaps — demand-driven only
